What will you be doing?

For a strategic development project, we are looking for an experienced Medior/Senior Java Developer who will be primarily responsible for one specific system or product. In this role, the candidate will combine strong technical execution with ownership of the product and direct coordination with business stakeholders.

The developer will operate within a broader engineering structure in which a Tech Lead is responsible for the overarching technical vision and for coaching developers. Within the assigned product team, the developer will take a proactive approach to taking on and methodically expanding their scope of work.

  • Mid-level/Senior Full-Stack Developer (this role)
  • 2 senior developers (already in place)


What do you bring to the role?

  • Extensive experience as a full-stack developer
  • Strong backend focus using Java, but also proficient in frontend development
  • Experience with modern web architectures and API design
  • Strong communication skills and a business-minded approach
  • Experience with stakeholder management and internal client communication
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written, is required.


Nice to have

  • Experience with AI / prompting (e.g. working with LLMs or AI integrations)
  • Experience with the Python programming language


Key responsibilities

  • Developing features, bug fixes and technical improvements
  • Translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Actively communicating with internal clients and stakeholders
  • Taking responsibility for the product backlog and prioritisation (in consultation with the business)
  • Ensuring code quality, architecture and best practices


Technical stack

  • Backend: Java (Spring Boot)
  • Database: PostgreSQL
  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js, Angular, Flutter
  • Infrastructure: Docker (Compose), shell scripting/Linux, (GitLab) CI/CD


What do we offer you?

  • A gross monthly salary of between €5,500 and €7,500, depending on your knowledge and experience
  • 8% holiday pay

  • A 12-month contract (40 hours per week), with the prospect of a permanent position
  • The option to work hybrid, requiring you to be in the office for at least two days a week
